Accountability Counts

Accountability

Our philosophy is based in something simple, doing the next "right" thing. Accountability is the most important part of the coaching day. It's not always easy to do or obvious to see. It takes practice, thought, and ease. We know from hard won experience that's the best way to live because it removes our former mentality of getting something for nothing whenever the opportunity arose; it generates a sense of connection that's easy to achieve. For us, our heads are clear not only because we no longer cloud them with drugs and alcohol but also because we are not lying, cheating or stealing.

Creating Community

Here, every person is teamed with his or her own wellness recovery coach to help each resident structure her day. They'll be in frequent contact to discuss the feelings and challenges of early recovery, examine scheduling and financial considerations and learn about the grace of gratitude that comes living clean and sober.

Evening meals are often shared by house members taking turns to cook. Along with recreation, the evening meal is an anchor for the house's residents to get to know each other.

Another important part of recovery is being able to assess and reassess our values and put purpose in our life that our literature based workshops can provide. Through the workshops, residents get to know each other and make recovery friends.

Making a Difference

We can make a difference in the quality of the recovery experience. Through the 12-steps, individualized therapy plans, accountability and adventure, we can share the miracle of a life once lost to addiction turning around to freedom and productivity. We believe sustainable recovery is not going to be found in a quick fix but in an individualized, accountable, fun, mindful and compassionate environment.
